The next Hub event will take place at Carn Brea on Thursday 29th July, starting at 7pm, and this time our focus will be on regeneration in Cornwall, and the opportunities that are there to be taken.
It will be our second visit to Carn Brea, and comes at an exciting time in the
Centre's and the area's development.
The evening will kick off with a presentation from Carn Brea Leisure Centre's
Chief Executive, Damian Hall, who will talk about the exciting £40 million plans for the creation of a new Carn Brea Life Centre - which will incorporate
traditional leisure facilities, a flow rider wave machine, a spa, climbing
walls, accommodation and arena/conference facilities. This development will have such an impact that Lord Coe, who is now in charge of the UK's 2012 Olympic bid, sees it as a possible Olympic Village venue.
The second speaker will be Jane Locke of CPR Regeneration, who will be talking about their latest initiative; the Omega Project, an IT incubation project that will look to offer shared services and space to allow young Cornish IT businesses to nurture and grow, whilst at the same time receiving valuable support.
This event is for anyone who enjoys working and doing business here and want to see what plans there are for the future development of Cornwall. It may also inspire you to take your business or career further.
