Music Development in CornwallFir 3 June, 10am – 4pm Truro CollegeAs part of the Musician’s Union/TUC ‘Learning Works for All’ day at Truro College, Restormel Arts is hosting a lunchtime meeting to look at Music Development in Cornwall. This first meeting will hopefully bring together musicians, promoters, producers and those working in the music industry, to look at overall development of music in Cornwall. The discussion will be looking at ways: · To strengthen communication and develop partnerships in the sector. · To create a proactive voice for the music industry in Cornwall. · To prove the economic value of the sector to local and regional agencies. · To link Cornwall with regional/national initiatives eg: South West Music Industry Forum, Live Music Forum, etc. Phil Webb of Restormel Arts will talk about ideas for a Music Development Organisation for Cornwall and Adrian Bossey of Dartington Plus will talk about regional/national initiatives to support music development. There will be plenty of time for discussion with the aim of taking forward these important opportunities for supporting music and helping musicians develop their careers in Cornwall.
