Small firms adopt broadband but reject e-commerce. The latest NatWest/Small Enterprise Research Team (SERT) quarterly small business survey has revealed that small firms are embracing new technology such as broadband and Wi-Fi. In less than two years, the proportion of small enterprises with broadband has doubled to 56%, with 92% of firms claiming to rely on a PC to carry out daily business. However, of the two-thirds of firms that have a website, only 11% use it for e-commerce.
