Although founded back in 2003 as a freelance practice, Neil Tinson Studio launched as a fully-operational design company in January 2007, offering graphic design and art direction.
Straight after graduating from Falmouth College of Arts, Neil Tinson joined Thirteen; a highly respected graphic design company in Bristol. Three years later he moved to Falmouth and a position at Cornwall's largest agency, Gendall, for over two years. Since starting out, Neil's worked with clients such as Barclays, BBC, Bristol Old Vic, Cornwall Enterprise, Defra, Objective One, Orange and Pendennis.
Although often working solo, Neil frequently collaborates with other skilled people to suit the needs of each project - photographers, illustrators, copywriters, typographers, 3-D experts, programmers, strategic consultants, or even other designers. This flexibility ensures Neil Tinson Studio isn't bound by an expensive team of staff with limits to their experience or skills. Neil Tinson Studio views the practice of design as one of problem-solving. For every project undertaken, the fundamental approach is consistent to create unpredictable, crafted solutions driven by ideas. Neil's passionate about design and its unique ability to add value when strategic thinking and creativity are combined.
Neil's a member of D&AD (British Design & Art Direction) and ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers), and a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, manufactures & commerce). He's also a committee member of the Cornwall Design Forum, and has taught at both the University of Gloucestershire and University College Falmouth.
