Deadline: 31st March
The Cornwall Film Festival has announced details of the Govynn Kernewek Award 2008, the annual prize for the best proposal for a short film mainly or entirely in the Cornish language. You don't need to speak Cornish to apply - the winner will receive support from a panel of advisors to complete their film. Three ideas will be shortlisted from the initial entries, and each of these three applicants will receive £150 and expert advice and support to develop their idea, on everything from putting together a crew to script-writing and budgeting. In October the three shortlisted applicants will be interviewed, and the winning idea will then be awarded £5,000 to make their film, which will receive its premiere at Cornwall Film Festival 2009. Applicants need to submit a one-page outline of their idea, along with a CV, by 31 March to the Cornwall Film Festival, Krowji, West Park, Redruth, Cornwall TR15 3AJ. For further information, please e-mail the Festival info@cornwallfilmfestival.com or call 01209 204655.
