Penzance Development

Technical investigations of marine and coastal conditions are now well underway in Penzance, Newlyn and Penlee. Penwith District Council have managed to secure over £600,000 investment for these investigations to support work on the harbour developments at Newlyn and Penzance and the Promenade. The proposals include; the development of Penzance harbour, improving the facilities for the life-line link to the Isles of Scilly and creating space in an already congested harbour area; proposed sea defence work along the Penzance Promenade; new purpose-built facilities for fishing and supporting industries to regenerate the port, the industry and the local community in Newlyn and the proposed new breakwater and channel which will help turn Penlee Quarry into a site for a marina and mixed development. For further information please contact Nigel Horwell, Penwith District Council, tel: 01736 336618.
