Simon Leek - South West ICT Limited

Simon Leek founded South West ICT in 2007 after having built and sold a Midlands-based software company throughout the 90’s. A move to Cornwall was a lifestyle choice for Simon and the South West ICT business was created to provide good value, low cost, customer relationship management solutions both locally and nationally. "Our aim is to cut through the techno-babble and deliver plain talking highly effective marketing solutions".

Office to let in Central Penzance

DPN member Cathy Lake is leaving her office in Penzance after nearly 8 years. It's a good working space with plenty of light, especially in the afternoons. The office is on the first floor in Old Brewery Yard, next door to DPN. There's space for up to four people, plus a small kitchen, toilet and washroom and a storeroom. The rent is £310 a calendar month and the office will be available from July 6th.

Paid graduate mentoring opportunity

Unlocking Cornish Potential are working to support over 100 graduate placements in small businesses in Cornwall and is part-financed by the European Social Fund they are able to offer mentor support to these graduates, mentor support is defined as specialist help to assist the graduate in achieving their objectives for company growth.

The budget contained some interesting points for the creative media industries. The Chancellor promised to spend over £260m of new money on training and subsidies for young people to help them get the skills or experience needed in sectors with strong future demand - which could mean sectors like ours. In addition, he mentioned setting up a £750 million Strategic Investment Fund to support ‘advanced industrial projects of strategic importance’.
