Artist Statement:
My main inspiration comes from nature; exploring wildlife, environment/ conservation awareness and astronomy. Abstract/ imaginative landscapes express introspective feelings, as a way of dealing with my own emotional concerns while emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness in society. I think my work has illusion and depth but also abstract in form. Capturing time is a continuing theme of imagery I create. Work mainly in oils and mixed media, experience of using charcoals, pastels, inks, gouache, watercolour, collage, analytical drawing, also photography, printmaking, ceramics. Also using Photoshop for digital imagery, designed own . Online at geocities/alison_gracie Enthusiastic traveller, been to Denmark, Brittany, Normandy (France), Florence and Venice (Italy), Also lived for short periods in Dublin (Ireland)and Cyprus. Travelling and experiencing other cultures brings new inspiration to my work.
